Israeli Soldiers in West Bank, Gaza
Get Internet Pizzas From Around the World

JERUSALEM (AP) Israeli soldiers are facing a global bombardment of pizzas.

More than 4,000 pizzas have been sent via the Internet to soldiers serving in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, said Shimon Aharon, a British-born Israeli reservist who established the web site (www.PizzaIDF.org) last month.

Ninety percent of the pizzas were sent by Americans, with the remainder coming from Europe, South America, Australia and New Zealand.

Those interested can choose from one of four pizza packages that run from dlrs 16.95 for "Pizza and Pepsi for a patrol" to dlrs 89.95 for six pizza pies and six Pepsis, meant to feed a platoon. Several pizzerias in Jerusalem and Jewish settlements in the West Bank and Gaza deliver the pizzas to army bases, foot patrols and military checkpoints.

The site assures buyers that all pizzas are Glatt Kosher so any soldier -- religious or secular -- can enjoy the Italian delicacy.
